Meta Makeover: Episode 7: Join us in swinging London!
Our seventh show came from London - the Chelsea sim - and the challenge facing our designer Salome Strangelove was to create a fantastic home using only slightly more prims than we found in one of Satu Moreau's wonderful plates of sushi served in the Japanese restaurant on the Galaxy in our last episode!
That's right. You'll find 106 prims on a large plate of Satu's sushi ... and our designer had 120 prims to make over a whole house!
Did she do it?
This week our designer was Salome Strangelove of Facade Furnishings and Linden Lifestyles, and she made over a lovely end-of-terrace Georgian style home for the show.
The programme was presented by Saffia Widdershins, the Editor of Prim Perfect Magazine - and in the studio she also talked to Spike Harturian, Estate Manager of the London sims, and to London Director Timber Oceanline, who told us about ways in which he’s cut down on lag in London.
And we also showed you something of life in the London - and we had a very special cameo appearance in the show too. So don’t miss it!
Meta Makeover: Episode 6: A cruise on the Galaxy
Our sixth show came from one of the most amazing builds in Second Life - the three sim long cruise ship, the Galaxy.
The show is available on the web here, and lasts about fifty minutes.
When tenants moved out leaving one of the cabins in rather a mess, the ship's crew asked Meta Makeover to give them a hand in creating a luxury VIP cabin where someone could stay and enjoy all the amenities the ship has to offer - including the ballroom, conference room, roller skating rink, pool (with its pool parties), helicopter trips ... oh yes, there's all this and more!
Our designer was Zandi Moe of Organised Confusion, and we made over a VIP cabin on the fabulous three-sim cruise liner The Galaxy, designed and created by Bill Stirling.
The programme was presented by Saffia Widdershins, the Editor of Prim Perfect Magazine - and in the studio she talked to Bill Stirling in the studio about the Galaxy, his other builds and his plans.
And we show you something of life on the Galaxy - and Saffia had a meeting with the amazing Satu Moreau - sushi chef on the Galaxy - an encounter not to be missed!
Meta Makeover: Episode 5: Solanghe Sarlo's Fisherman's Cottage in the Orkneys!
Our fifth show came from the stunningly beautiful Orkney Islands - and I think everyone involved in the show fell in love with the setting - our production team, the SLCN team, and the designer, Yolanda Hirvi of Metaversal Arts, who is setting up a new sim attached to the islands after doing the meta makeover there!
See the show live on the web (it lasts about forty minutes) as Yolanda give Solanghe Sarlo’s cottage on the harbourside a meta makeover - and meet in the studio Tim Merserau, one of the designers of this stunning place.
Look out for the lovely kitchen - and the painting in the bedroom/studio, where Saffia gets a chance to tring her hand at painting!
And, as a special treat, you can see the film that SLCN made of the Orkney Isles separately too - it lasts about three minutes.
Meta Makeover: Episode 4: Amber Selentiak's Castle
Our fourth show came from a new sim of Estonia - and was the result of a competition held by Qabalah Quintus of Castles by Q.
In association with the programme, he offered a Meta Makeover as a prize in a draw open to anyone who bought a new castle from his store, or who upgraded their existing castle.
The winner was Amber Selentiak, and she sited a gorgeous castle from Castles by Q's wide range on her new sim of Estonia.
See the show live on the web (it lasts about an hour) as Sofia Standish of Sofia's Furniture and Soliel Snook of Snook's Garden Centre give Amber's Castle a meta makeover!
Episode 3: The Loft at the Beach: Skate Foss's home
This week, we took a beautiful beach home and as those three talented designers at The Loft3 (Colleen Desmoulins, Bethany Heart and Kingston Augustus) to make it over for us.
And, as you can see on the show - now available as a podcast from iTunes and here on the web - they did an absolutely fantastic job.
Skate Foss, the home owner, tells us how pleased she is that her lovely home has now become a showcase, while Bethany Heart takes Saffia Widdershins on a guided tour of all the changes.
And we learn some fascinating things about Linden plants, where you can buy books and low prim plants for your home and also why it is so very important that your position your home so that it is aligned to the grid!
Episode 2: What can you do with a Motorbike Repair Shop? Motor Loon's home
Motor Loon was using his new lovely new home to repair motorbikes for his store - MLCC. But that was before our designers got hold of the house and grounds, and created a dream home for Motor and his wife, Melody Regent!
This episode is now available on the web (it lasts about forty-five minutes).
You can admire the wonderful work that Kvinta Linguian of Kvinta's Garden Centre did on the grounds, and the way Dellybean North of True North Designs transformed the house into something completely gorgeous.
Episode 1: The Pilot: Diva Regina's home
Our first pilot show is now available on the web!
Just click here to see our show (it lasts about half an hour).
As it’s a pilot, it’s still a little rough and ready, but you can still see the amazing and gorgeous work that Anhayla Lycia of Treesong Designs did on the garden, and that Zasa Rossini of La Belle Vie did on the upper floor. I’d like to thank them, and Jeannie Moonflower of Bygone Days for all their hard work.
And don’t miss the fantastic set design either. That was a custom job created for us by Rrishanna Regina and Prad Prathivi from PRrim Designs.
